The Dover School Mission & Vision
The Dover School and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Mission Statement
The Dover School provides a robust and community-centered foundation for becoming active, compassionate lifelong learners. Our program encourages students to become inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. We aim to develop internationally-minded students through challenging and rigorous academic programs.
The Dover School International Baccalaureate Vision
We believe that the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program at The Dover School will provide a broad base of knowledge for our students, integrating Language Arts, math, science, social studies, and the Arts with the Common Core State Standards, the C3 Framework of State Social Studies Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. Our curriculum is built around the six Transdisciplinary Themed units central to the IB PYP program. Through these Transdisciplinary Themed Units of Inquiry students become internationally-minded inquirers, learning more about themselves, the world around them, and how they are interconnected.
